Allyson Felix
Allyson Nicole Felix was born on the 18th of November, 1985, at Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor in the Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet elementary school. Felix had an early aptitude for sports when she was in high school at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Felix discovered her athletic talent at that at the time. Just 10 weeks after her first tryout she came third in the 200-meter race during the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix finished high school in 2003, and was signed by Adidas to become an athlete in professional competition. In the following year, she attended University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix was presented with her first Olympic prize at the 2004 Summer Olympics In Athens Greece. Felix ran 200 meters in 22.18s and set an all-time junior world record. In 2005, she became the world's youngest champion in 200 meters in the Helsinki World Championships. She won the title again in 2007, defeating her former Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix competed at her first Olympics in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro as well as Tokyo regularly placing in the top three places in all her competitions.
